If everything has a reason, then is anything ever our choice? If we have so many factors pointing us in a particular direction, are we ever truly free to follow our own path? Should we even bother to imagine a future for ourselves if the universe has already decided our fate? In a culture that bears such rigid expectations, I sometimes wonder if we are truly free or simply trapped within the limitations set for us. As Filipinos, and as people in general, do we have the freedom to be free?
